What is Colon Hydrotherapy? What Is A Colonic?
A colonic or "colon hydrotherapy" is a method of gently infusing the large intestine with purified water to remove excess waste material and, eventually, mucoid plaque that can line the colon wall, leaving an encrustation of hard, black toxic matter. This waste build up can weaken other systems of the body and effect our ability to absorb vitamins and minerals from the food and superfoods we eat. I know, at first, the idea of a getting a colonic may sound extreme and a little uncomfortable. It did for me at least. But, after I had my very first hydrotherapy session I was convinced on the benefits it can have on improving health substantially. It felt like a weight had been lifted and old fecal matter that had been in my body for years had been released. It is a process, however. A series of colonics usually always achieves the best results, with each session moving in a layer deeper. Colonic irrigation is a practice that has been used for thousands of years to remove blockage in this important region of the body. When the drain gets clogged in your kitchen sink, you need to unclog the blockage in the pipes. The same is true for the colon, otherwise the entire system backs up, causing a myriad of health issues and disease.
TOP 3 Reasons To Get A ColonicBecause we all have different body types and health issues, a colonic can offer a range of "clearing effects." A colonic irrigation can benefit ones health on three main levels or a combination of all of them.1) PHYSICAL - this level involves the physical matter, and the release of the brown waste and residue that we have collected over many years. Clearing it out allows the colon to "breathe" again, so it can perform its job as "waste system manager" much more effectively. Colon health is important for our immune system, when these physical blocks are diminished or eliminated, our overall health can improve significantly. 2) EMOTIONAL - most old waste material in the body has an emotional component to it. Sometimes we store and carry suppressed emotions in this toxic overload. Emotional trauma that we are unable to process as children often has its counterpart in the physical toxins of the body. When these emotions are released with their physical counterpart, we can clear emotional blocks that may be inhibiting our growth in ways we may not realize. 3) SPIRITUAL - the colon is the second brain in its ability to determine one's body-mind. When we have physical and emotional blockage in this area of the body, this can create a mind fog and the inability to feel our own source energy and higher states of consciousness that are our birth right. Many people I know have experienced an "opening of the third eye" after receiving a colonic irrigation treatment. Healthy Diet = Healthy Colon Our diet and the foods we eat dramatically effect the health of our colon and its ability to rid waste material from the body. Unhealthy eating practices throughout our lifetime help to build-up debris in the colon. A superhealthy diet of whole, raw, organic, fiber-rich foods and superfoods is the way to go if maintaining colon health is your goal. Superhealth, in my opinion, begins with a clean intestinal tract that can easily dispel toxins from the body and prohibited there build up in our precious vital organs. A healthy colon can free all body systems and organs to perform at their absolute best. The Gravity Fed Method The best colon hydrotherapy method is the "gravity fed" method, using a Libbe. This system allows for a natural flow of water pressure into the colon. Everything is enclosed, so there is absolutely no smell. The recipient is slightly upright, covered and free to release when they are ready to let it go Recipe of the Month:Lymph Juice Magic
After juice feasting this past week I have come up with a few of my personal favorite juicing recipes and here is one of them. This is a little juice combo I love, blending all those superhealthy wild greens together with other veggies, the purple pigment and Vit K of cabbage and some sweetness of green apple. Chickweed and cleavers are especially cleansing for the lymph system. It is good to clean the lymph periodically, with greens like these, to reduce the effects of environment pollutants we take in on a daily basis.
We are currently next to a massive wild greens area and literally collecting big bags of miners lettuce everyday. There is just so much and NOBODY is eating it. Along with the miners lettuce there is also chickweed and cleavers. The three of them seem to like to grow together. If these are not available in the areas that you live, use other wild edibles, like nettles, or you can use store bought dandelion and watercress as an alternative. ***Always use a plant identification guide when wildcrafting wild plants for the first time.***
